Google Sitemaps

So I just submitted a sitemap to Google. This sitemap is used to notify Google of what pages are available on my site so that their crawlers can index them. I did this in an attempt to get my blog to rank higher on Google for terms like “Kokul” or “Kokul Shanmugharajah”. WordPress has a really neat plugin called “Google XML Sitemaps” which automatically generates an XML sitemap that search engines like Google and Bing can use. A new sitemap is generated every time the content of your site changes (aka when a post/page is created/updated). I then tell Google and Bing to look for the XML sitemap and voila, its done.

A New Look

I finally found a theme that I like. It’s called Montezuma and is created by the wonderful people at BytesForAll. It is really clean, simple and looks great. It is also pretty customizable and since I have used BytesForAll’s previous theme, I know this one will be quite easy to customize. I shall use this one for a while and see how it goes.
